HONG KONG, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Chief Executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Lee on Friday met here with visiting Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to exchange views on further strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
Highlighting Singapore's contribution to Asia's development and prosperity, Lee said that Hong Kong and Singapore will continue to deepen cooperation to bring more opportunities to Asia.
He expressed gratitude to Singapore for its continuous support for Hong Kong's accession to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, and stated that Hong Kong will proactively promote regional cooperation and economic synergy.
Lee expressed hope for broader and deeper collaboration between the two places in areas such as economy and trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
He also encouraged Singaporean enterprises to establish a presence in the Northern Metropolis and the Hetao Hong Kong Park to participate in areas including commercial development as well as innovation and technology.
With its unique strengths under the "one country, two systems," Hong Kong can help Singaporean enterprises to tap into the Chinese mainland market and open up more opportunities for enterprises and investors, Lee said.
