HONG KONG, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said on Monday that an oath-taking ceremony will be held for members of the eighth-term Legislative Council (LegCo) on Jan. 1, 2026.
The oath-taking will be administered by John Lee, chief executive of the HKSAR. The HKSAR will publish the list of LegCo members whose oaths were determined as valid after the oath-taking ceremony.
The election of the eighth-term LegCo of the HKSAR was held on Dec. 7, electing 90 legislators. Their four-year term will begin on Jan. 1, 2026.
