1. China's first cross-boundary National Games ends with a bang

The flame of China's 15th National Games was extinguished in Shenzhen on November 21, which concluded the first cross-boundary edition of the country's premier multi-sport event, jointly staged by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The Happy Theater in Shenzhen's Bao'an District hosted a closing ceremony on a shimmering water-stage that blended technology with Lingnan motifs and cultural elements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The quadrennial event passed the baton to Hunan province, marking the first time it will be held in central China.



2. China's iconic sprinter Su Bingtian bids emotional farewell in final race

Chinese star sprinter Su Bingtian ran his final race on November 20, finishing fourth with his teammates in the men's 4x100-meter relay at the 15th National Games to conclude a groundbreaking 21-year career.

The 36-year-old, who now serves as dean of the School of Physical Education at Jinan University, competed before 43,924 spectators at the 45,801-seat Guangdong Olympic Sports Center in a farewell for the athlete who transformed Asian sprinting.



3. Legend Ma completes fairytale triumph at China's National Games

China's most decorated Olympian Ma Long finally added a men's team crown to his glittering resume at the National Games on November 20, claiming his first title in the event and a long-awaited milestone in his storied career.

In the best-of-five final at Macao's Galaxy Arena, the 37-year-old delivered two crucial wins to lead Beijing past Shanghai 3-1.



4. Veteran swimmer Wang Shun wins 19th National Games gold

Zhejiang's Wang Shun closed out the swimming competition at the 15th National Games with a victory in the men's 400m individual medley on November 17, winning in 4:14.90 to claim his 19th National Games gold.

"This competition was very memorable for me," Wang said. "I'm happy to win this precious gold on the last day, not only for myself but for Zhejiang. My physical condition was pushed to the limit, but I'm proud I was able to keep going."



5. Li Zeyang, Chen Yujie blaze to 100m titles at China's National Games

Sprinters Li Zeyang of Hubei and Chen Yujie of Zhejiang stole the spotlight at China's 15th National Games on November 17, as Li clocked 10.11 seconds to win the men's 100 meters and 16-year-old Chen became the youngest women's champion in the event's history.

Li, 25, had signaled his form with a 10.08 in the heats before storming to his first National Games title.

Chen powered to an 11.10-second finish - 0.27 seconds ahead of veteran sprinter Wei Yongli of Guangxi - setting an Asian U20 record.
