Hang Seng Index closes 2.42 pct higher

HONG KONG, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong stock market rallied on Monday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index up 2.42 percent to close at 25,858.83 points.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index climbed 2.45 percent to end at 9,232.67 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index jumped 3.00 percent to end at 5,933.17 points.

Upon opening on Monday, the Hang Seng Index rose 2.52 percent and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 3.9 percent, respectively.
