HONG KONG, May 29 (Xinhua) -- John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will lead a business delegation on a visit to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from May 31 to June 6.
The trip aims to strengthen cooperation with the two Central Asian countries in areas including finance, infrastructure, innovation and technology as well as green development. Creating new trade corridors and unlocking opportunities in emerging markets are also on the agenda, according to the HKSAR government.
The delegation, the largest of its kind in the current term of the HKSAR government, comprises over 40 businessmen and professionals from Hong Kong and about 30 representatives of mainland enterprises, said Lee. They are from such sectors as finance, legal services, construction and engineering, logistics and advanced manufacturing.
The delegation will encourage Central Asian enterprises to leverage Hong Kong's strengths as a platform for business expansion, Lee said.
The chief executive will start his visit in Kazakhstan, before traveling to Uzbekistan on June 3.
