BRATISLAVA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The top four teams of the Slovak ice hockey premiership Tipos Extraliga proved their position, winning their respective fixtures in the 35th round on Sunday.

HC Slovan Bratislava had no trouble staying five points ahead of HKM Zvolen after a 6-2 victory in Banska Bystrica. Slovan Bratislava's elite scorer Marcel Hascak swooped at Banska Bystrica like a hawk, effectively completing a hat-trick within the first 14 minutes. The last season's most productive player added two assists later on to lead the best Extraliga team to a dominant victory.

In a repeat of last season's Finals, Zvolen also produced a dominant first period by scoring four consecutive goals, forcing the visiting goalie Marek Ciliak to substitute, and set itself up for a comfortable 7-2 victory over HK Poprad. 27-year-old American forward Kyle Osterberg achieved two goals and two assists to lead the scoring department.

The reigning champions, trailing Slovan by five points, had been rewarded by a standing ovation from the fans as they were allowed to attend at quarter capacity following a positive development of the pandemic in Slovakia.

HK Dukla Ingema Michalovce hosted the punching bag of the league and easily stretched their winning streak to a respectable six straight, after winning 4-1 at MHK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas.

Elsewhere, HC Nove Zamky beat HC Kosice 4-2 thanks to their American forward Robby Jackson and his Slovakian teammate Juraj Siska, while HK Dukla Trencin's had a solid 4-1 victory over Spisska Nova Ves.
