PALM BEACH, Florida - U.S. President Donald Trump has been briefed on current discussions on trade, underway between the U.S., and China.

Mr Trump is spending the weekend at his Florida retreat, the Mar-a-Lago club.

The conference followed further negotiations in Beijing this week.

With 1 March looming as the date tariffs are set to be introduced or re-introduced,the pressure is on for the two economic superpowers to reach an agreement.

There was no official comment or statement coming out fo the Mar-a-Lago meeting, however the president took to Twitter afterwards to say the discussions in Beijing this week, which spanned five days, were "very production."

On FridayMr Trump said he may consider extending the 1 March deadline.
