Commissioner's Office of Chinese Foreign Ministry in HKSAR urges certain countries to stop harboring criminals

HONG KONG, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson for the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Monday expressed strong dissatisfaction with and firm opposition to Australia and Britain granting so-called "asylum" to anti-China elements.

Ted Hui Chi-fung, Tony Chung Hon-lam and other anti-China elements committed serious offenses endangering national security in 2019 and continued to carry out activities with the same purpose after absconding overseas. They are outright criminals who seriously violated the national security law in Hong Kong, said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson stressed that these absconders will eventually be brought to justice, and any act that glorifies, harbors, supports or encourages anti-China elements will be futile.

The spokesperson urged relevant countries to stop harboring criminals and cease meddling in Hong Kong affairs by any means.
